During your meditations you will experience a heightening sense of awareness of the energies surrounding you.</p>
<p>Meditation is also a time to release negative energy. You will want to pay attention to the way you are feeling and really focus on the vibrations that you feel around you. Try to imagine your mind as it was before it was filled with knowledge. Imagine you are feeling and experiencing each and everything for the first time in your life.</p>
<p>Once you are able to achieve perfect meditation you are more aware of your thoughts and feelings as well as those around you. Becoming one with the universe will enable you to tap into your psychic power more easily.</p>

Meditation refers to a state where your body and mind are intentionally relaxed and focused. Practitioners of this talent say that they have increased awareness, focus, and concentration, as well as a more positive outlook in life.</p>
<p>Meditation is most commonly associated with monks, mystics and other spiritual disciplines. However, you don&#8217;t have to be a monk or mystic to enjoy its benefits. You don&#8217;t even have to be in a special place to practice it. You could even try it in your own living room!</p>
<p>Although there are many different approaches to meditation, the fundamental principles remain the same. The most important principle is that of removing obstructive, negative, and wandering thoughts and fantasies, and calming the mind with a deep sense of focus. This clears the mind of debris and prepares it for a higher quality of activity.</p>
<p>The negative thoughts you have - those of noisy neighbors, bossy officemates, that parking ticket you got, and unwanted spam- are said to contribute to the &#8216;polluting&#8217; of the mind, and shutting them out is allows for the &#8216;cleansing&#8217; of the mind so that it may focus on deeper, more meaningful thoughts.</p>
<p>Some practitioners even shut out all sensory input - no sights, no sounds, and nothing to touch - and try to detach themselves from the commotion around them. You may now focus on a deep, profound thought if this is your goal. It may seem deafening at first, since we are all too accustomed to constantly hearing and seeing things, but as you continue this exercise you will find yourself becoming more aware of everything around you.</p>
<p>If you find the meditating positions you see on television threatening - those with impossibly arched backs, and painful-looking contortions - you need not worry. The principle here is to be in a comfortable position conducive to concentration. This may be while sitting cross-legged, standing, lying down, and even walking.</p>
<p>If the position allows you to relax and focus, then that would be a good starting point. While sitting or standing, the back should be straight, but not tense or tight. In other positions, the only thing that is a big no, is slouching and falling asleep.</p>
<p>Loose, comfortable clothes help a lot in the process since tight fitting clothes have a tendency to choke you up and make you feel tense.</p>
<p>The place you perform meditation should have a soothing atmosphere. It may be in your living room, or bedroom, or any place that you feel comfortable in. You might want an exercise mat if you plan to take on the more challenging positions (if you feel more focused doing so, and if the contortionist in you is screaming for release). You may want to have the place arranged so that it is soothing to your senses.</p>
<p>Silence helps most people relax and meditate, so you may want a quiet, isolated area far from the ringing of the phone or the humming of the washing machine. Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so stocking up on aromatic candles isn&#8217;t such a bad idea either.</p>
<p>The monks you see on television making those monotonous sounds are actually performing their mantra. This, in simple terms, is a short creed, a simple sound which, for these practitioners, holds a mystic value.</p>
<p>You do not need to perform such; however, it would pay to note that focusing on repeated actions such as breathing, and humming help the practitioner enter a higher state of consciousness.</p>
<p>The principle here is focus. You could also try focusing on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight.</p>
<p>One sample routine would be to - while in a meditative state - silently name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part. While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body. Mentally visualize releasing this tension. It works wonders.</p>
<p>In all, meditation is a relatively risk-free practice and its benefits are well worth the effort (or non-effort - remember we&#8217;re relaxing).</p>
<p>Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic effects to the body. And there has been a growing consensus in the medical community to further study the effects of such. So in the near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation might become a science itself!</p>

They will all be at least 30 minutes of the instructor demonstrating the fitness movements, but they won&#8217;t all have the same mannerisms and degree of intensity as other instructors on other work out DVDs.</p>
<p>You will find that there will be equally male instructors as well as female on-screen. They will have a wide array of personalities ranging from delightful and delicate, to rigid and intensely harsh. You will feel as though you are at a ballet studio for your pilates as the instructor compliments you every few minutes, or you will feel as though you are being drilled at a fitness boot-camp as that instructor yells for you to &#8220;push harder&#8221; for that last yoga pose.</p>
<p>If you are lucky and have gotten your hands on a decent work out DVD, you will feel either at ease, or pushed to your limits. The instructor on the screen will be in a staged area that will appear to be a dance studio, an industrial-like gym, or a beach on some island.</p>
<p>Most likely, there will be a group of other men and women alongside and behind the fitness instructor following the work out moves. This is to show you that you are not alone as you exercise in your home fitness center.</p>
<p>While these men and women are following the instructor, they are also varying the movements (the instructor should be pointing this out). The movements will range from an easy adjustment (for people with joint issues), to a very difficult variation (for people who want to push themselves even harder).</p>
<p>You might notice that in some work out DVDs, there is absolutely no sweating going on. Just happy smiles and glowing cheeks, but no sweat to be found. You might notice the opposite in other DVDs, where everyone is drenched from head to toe in sweat and struggling with some moves. That is all the decision of the director and producer to portray to you.</p>
<p>Overall, you will get a much better return of investment (or ROI for you business geeks) with paying a low flat amount of money for an entire work out DVD set, because the more you use it the cheaper each use will be. Eventually it will cost you pennies to exercise for an hour, as opposed to paying a large down payment for a gym and continuously paying monthly fees, gas refueling and commute time.</p>
<p>The added benefit to having a collection of different work out DVDs is that you can change the exercise up whenever you want! You can use the ab work out DVD of one program with a cardio DVD of another. Or, you can make a complete hybrid of two fitness programs to take your body to the next level of results.</p>

Yoga and Pilates exercise are not intended to build muscles, instead they give the body a leaner appearance and keep the mind and the body connected and altogether helps the body and mind to relax and help the person, who leads a stressful life, to deal with it. By just trying it once, you won&#8217;t be able to let go off it.</p>
<p>What exactly is yoga and Pilates exercise?</p>
<p>Since these two programs are different, many do yoga on one day and pilates on another. Some people combine portions of these programs to make their own work out regiment. A pilates yoga exercise program could incorporate positions from yoga with workouts from pilates to work on specific areas and strengthen core muscles.</p>
<p>A couple of pilates yoga exercise routines that can be used to help flatten that tummy include the Warrior position from yoga and the 100&#8217;s from pilates. Both of these movements use very controlled and precise movements to fully engage the abdomen muscles. With the Warrior position a person needs to stand and then move one leg about 4 feet forward, extend the arms so that they are parallel to the ground. Turn the right foot out slightly and the left foot needs to be turned to a 90-degree angle. Exhale and bend the right knee, make sure to keep the right knee over the ankle and press the left leg straight, hold the position for 30 seconds.</p>
<p>The 100&#8217;s involve lying down on your back and pulling your legs straight off the floor slowly. Lift the head and the shoulders off of the floor and press your abdomen down. Put your hands flat by you hips and thighs and slowly lower you legs but don&#8217;t touch the ground. Press hands up and down and count to five and inhale and then count to five and exhale do this until you reach 100.</p>
<p>This type of exercise regime make the individual very disciplined as well creates the right balance of Pilates and yoga making it unique and special for a individual.</p>
<p>For individuals who in the past have made use of both these type of program can be as simple as combining two positions together that have a similar flow. Exercises by Pilate&#8217;s yoga are one of the best methods for a complete body and mind workout.</p>

Throughout the last several years, a new type of vacationers has been requiring more from hotels than  before, and a new type of travel is rising in popularity.</p>
<p>This new group of travelers wants more than  before from a vacation, and  the tourism sector is providing new options, including hotels and resorts with Yoga and Wellness .</p>
<p>Yoga retreat centers have appeared all over the earth, and nowhere more so than Costa Rica. Many medium to large hotels and resorts offer yoga of one type or another, since so many tourists are requesting it.</p>
<p>Beach towns in Costa Rica with a focus on tourism, such as <a href="http://www.montezumabeach.com">Montezuma</a> or <a href="http://www.malpaisbeach.com">Santa Teresa</a> in the  Nicoya Peninsula, have multiple places to do yoga, and these hotels and retreat centers compete over which can provide the most spectacular yoga space.</p>
<p>Places such as Anamaya or Los Mangos Hotel in Montezuma have a large wooden deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean, fulfilling every yoga lover&#8217;s expectation of what tropical paradise should look like on their trip. This kind of yoga floor is very photogenic, and of course this helps a hotel to succeed in booking guests, since so many vacationers choose their vacation accommodations based mostly from the photos of the places they hope to go to.</p>
<p>Yoga teachers from around the world have visited  beautiful Costa Rica for  retreats, and have been taken by the enthusiasm for yoga here. Many are now living here and teaching yoga at a variety of places.</p>
<p>The result is many choices for practicing yoga in Costa Rica surf towns such as Santa Teresa or Malpais. A town such as Santa Teresa mostly has travelers interested in surfing, but many also practice yoga, either to warm up or for its own sake. It&#8217;s common for couple to vacation together, and while the men surf, the women do yoga.</p>
<p>A healthy and fun vacation at to a Wellness Center  most often includes yoga as well. Wellness centers give their clients the ability to relax, eat vegetarian or raw food, do internal cleansing, meditation, and sometimesnutritional counseling.</p>
<p>Guests at  wellness retreats usually return to their regular lives not only healthier and happier, but with  knowledge about their own bodies and can continue to live more healthfully long after their trip is over.</p>
<p>At times these wellness retreats start with fasting as part of a cleansing program. After a few days with little but juice, you will begin to mix in more foods, such as fruits and veggies. At times they are raw foods and usually they&#8217;re organic.</p>
<p>Colon cleansing,  massage, acupuncture, sauna, and other health treatments that focus on supporting the body to detoxify are an important part of the program. There are also  yoga positions that  squeeze your internal organs and thus help in cleansing the body.</p>
<p>Guests at these wellness retreats see improvements such as having  more energy, more restful sleep, smoother skin and clearer eyes.</p>
